Backstab ACTION ABILITY Backstab is one of the very few attack actions that have nothing to do with AF or stats at all, a percentage based attack. It's success rate is based on a separate roll, not how you've speced your unit. Just imagine a 5-sided die marked only with two variables, hit and miss. Backstab 5 has an 80% chance of hitting so four sides of the die are labels "hit" and the remaining one would be "miss". Roll away and you're going to hit 4/5 of the time so you could consider this a very favorable situation. Pair this with absolutely devastating DAM and you have got one of the best offensive abilities in the game! Backstab deals percentage based DAM, and in two separate rounds. It's DAM is very similar to Masticate, and can deal massive DAM to units high in health (HP). What makes it even better is that it is targetable, so you can actually pick who you want to cripple on the battlefield. Since some sort of balance is kept around the game mechanics, this ability is very scarce. If you do happen to have Uncleans or Assassin's Leather, you've probably noticed you only get one charge, and rightfully so. The ability has already been toned down by devs due to it's very cheap PV/DAM ratio. Uncleans are a very inexpensive unit which deal absurd DAM, and using multiples of them in the same squad can annihilate an entire player's army in one round. This ability is usually part of the discussion if you see players mention insta-kill abilites. Being percentage based, you need no offensive stats whatsoever. Speed should be considered to ensure you actually get the ability off. You only have one charge of it and its wasted if you die before getting it off.
