This will be the eventually home to the most extensive guide available.
This is going to take some time to edit and publish, so I've included a
VERY few key tips to help you get started. Hit the contact me link
and let me know the sort of stuff you guys want to see, or Wiz, if I'm
wrong. A lengthy, detailed strategy guide can be seen
here, but
keep in mind this is still being written as you read it and is FAR from
complete.
- For maximizing AF (offense), you need to focus mainly on STR for
all melee units and INT for the ranged ones. DEX and MOR also
play a smaller roll. You can have all the amazing action
abilities in the world, but they won't hit without these key core
stats. You can boost these stats with your Ability Points
(AP). Units get a set amount, per rarity, of AP each time they
level. It is wise to start out only purchasing these things,
and weapons/armor, with your AP.
- For maximizing DF (defense), focus on CON and WIL Only
difference is CON gives 10 HP, WIL gives slightly more DF and a tiny
amount of AF with +2 MOR.
- When in doubt, SAVE your AP (ability points) until the unit
levels again. Just because you have AP does not mean you have
to spend it. Many abilities further down the road require 2 AP
a piece, so keep that in mind. I cannot stress this enough.
You will ruin your units in the long run if you always spend your
entire lot of points.
- Try to get your hands on equipment that give stat boosts.
Example: Tower Shield of Might gives +10 strength to the unit.
Dashing Hat of the Stranger give +10 to all core stats. These
types of buffs cannot be negated and will save your AP for better
things down the road or make your unit ultra efficient. Name
of the game is PV efficiency. If you equip a Kherr Warrior
with good stat building equip he can often have better stats than
the Kherr Alpha or Outcast at a fraction of the price (PV).
- Early on try boosting MOR with the ability Rally. Most
units with special squad orders have the ability, and MOR can be
obtained through items as well. Items such as Banners,
Mantles, Lutes, Horns, Drums, and Pipes are fantastic ways to boost
your squad's MOR giving a nice buff offensively and defensively.
- SPD is often overlooked but is a very important aspect of the
game. Fastest unit acts first and if attacking gets the first
strike. A handful of abilities (Grapple, Backstab, etc.) are
percentage based and have nothing to do with AF/DF so speed pairs
well with these.
